Total Eclipse of the Art reception and market set for Feb. 11

AUBURN, Ala. — The Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (JDCAC) invites the public to explore the themes of love and heartbreak this Valentine’s season during a special art exhibition running Feb. 11–28.

An opening reception and outdoor market will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the JDCAC Art Gallery II and Ceramics Studio Patio. Guests are invited to stroll down Valentine’s alley to view themed works by local artists and shop for handmade gifts at the “Total Eclipse of the Art Market” on the Ceramics Patio.

Artists ages 16 and older are invited to submit up to two themed artworks measuring no larger than 48 by 48 inches. All pieces must be suitable for display in a family-friendly environment. Registration opens Jan. 9. Artwork drop-off will take place Jan. 22–31 between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center.

Market registration is open to JDCAC-affiliated artists, including Ceramics Independent Studio members, Open Studio members and instructors. Registration for the market opens Jan. 9 and closes Feb. 10.
